WAYNE KINCER POUND, VA – Wayne Kincer, 68, entered into eternity Tuesday February 10, 2015 from Heritage Hall –Big Stone Gap, VA . His loving wife was by his side. Wayne was Christian of the Baptist faith and a member of the New Freedom of Worship Church in Jenkins, KY and a member of the Pound Masonic Lodge #59 AF & AM. He was a retired coal miner and mechanic. Wayne was a loving, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed shooting guns, working on cars and equipment, helping his family and friends. Wayne dearly loved his grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Marguerite (Bolling) Kincer; and a brother, Joe Kincer. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Lana Kincer-Pound, VA; sons, Kenneth Kincer and wife Brigette-Jenkins, KY and Jesse Kincer and wife Laurissa-Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Kazden Kincer, Kiona Kincer, Mollie Kincer and Bonnie Kincer; a sister, Eva Robbins and husband Mark-Lorain , OH; brothers, Gary Kincer and wife Connie-Avon Lake , OH, Ray Kincer and wife Rose-Berlin Heights, OH and Tom Kincer and wife Pat- Sandusky, OH; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Homer Kiser and Roger Bolling; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn his passing and cherish his memory. CELIA LARAE SMITH COEBURN, VA- Celia LaRae Smith, 45, entered into eternity Sunday February 8, 2015 from Norton Community Hospital. Celia was of the Christian faith. She worked five plus years as a caregiver for others and several years at the Holiday Inn in Norton .She enjoyed camping, riding four wheelers, reading, working crossword puzzles, listening to all types of music and singing Celia also had a love for animals, especially her cats and dogs that she cared for deeply. But what she loved the most was spending time with her family and friends. Celia leaves behind a loving husband of 26 years, Mickey Smith-Coeburn, VA; a son, Jessee Smith and wife Hannah- Coeburn, VA; her parents, Charles and Billie Freeman- Norton, VA; sisters, Amanda Kilgore and husband Bo, Kim Collins and companion Danny Arwood and Laura Culbertson all of Norton, VA; brothers, Jeff Freeman and wife Rhonda- Pound, VA, Brian Freeman and wife Autumn- Norton, VA and Jerry Freeman and wife Anita-Wise, VA; several nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts and uncles; several close friends and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn her passing and cherish her memory. CURTIS CLINTON MULLINS NORTON, VA- Curtis Clinton Mullins, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday February 9, 2015 from his residence. Curtis was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was a proud coal miner for 20 plus years for Bethlehem Coal Company. He enjoyed fishing, camping, horseback riding, riding Harleys, and was well known for how clean he kept his vehicles. Curtis loved spending time with his family. And one of his favorite things was a good chew of tobacco. Curtis is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Kay Mullins; a son, Charles Howard; his parents, Marshall and Mattie Belle Mullins; a sister, Laura Montgomery; son- in-law, Jerome Marion and several other brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Margie (Howard) Mullins- Norton, VA; daughters, Bonnie Marion- Norton, VA, Carolyn Charles and husband Gary- Rutledge, TN and Beatrice Thacker and husband JP- Pound, VA, and Patricia Sanders and husband Rex-Shelby Gap, KY; a son, Townzil Dean Mullins and wife Mary Jane-Guyan, AL; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Oma Lean Strouth-Pound, VA; special friend, Hoss Mullins-Pound, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn his passing and cherish his memory. DANNY JOE DELOACH POUND, VA- Danny Joe DeLoach, 65, entered into Glory February 6, 2015 from the Mountain View Regional Medical Center- Norton, VA after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Danny was a member of the Georges Fork Freewill Baptist Church and was a retired coal miner. Danny loved gospel music, and watching Christian Ministries, one of his favorites being Boyd Bingham. He also enjoyed westerns and was a huge wrestling fan. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Icy May (Blair) DeLoach; three brothers, Jack DeLoach, Harold DeLoach and Bill DeLoach and daughter, Brenda Counts. NORA RAYDELL CROSS WISE, VA – Mrs. Nora Raydell Mullins Cross, 77, went home to be with the Lord Monday February 2, 2015 from Norton Community Hospital after an extended illness. Her loving family was by her side. Raydell was born to Arvil and Bessie Mullins on April 18, 1937 in Pound, VA. She was a Christian and a member of Stephens Chapel Regular Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She retired from the University of Virginia at Wise in the financial department, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gladeville Chapter and treasurer of the Wise County Democratic Committee. She was very active in Wise County Democratic politics and was an avid practical joker and had a great sense of humor. Raydell loved her God , her family and her country. Raydell was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Cross, her parents, Arvil and Bessie Mullins; three sisters, Cuba Ann Mullins, Geraldine (Sissy) Honaker and Erma Strouth; and five brothers, Douglas Mullins, Sr., Raleigh Mullins, Gaylon Mullins, Turl Mullins and Shelcy Mullins Sr. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Greg and Monica Cross-Wise, VA; two grandchildren, Michael Cross-Wise, VA and Mia Cross-Wise, VA; great- grandchildren, Ethan Cross and Emma Cross; a brother, Wallace Mullins and wife Deborah-Pound, VA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn her passing and cherish her memory. REVEREND GILMER EDISON BOGGS POUND, VA- Reverend Gilmer Edison Boggs, 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday January 30, 2015 from his residence. He was surrounded by his loving family. Edison was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and friend. He loved attending church and singing with his late wife Inez. He also enjoyed gardening, yard work and farming with his tractor and raising chickens. But mostly loved spending time with his family. Edison was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Elma Inez (Robinson) Boggs; an infant son; a daughter, Elma Jean Meade; a son-in-law, Everette Meade; a granddaughter, Emily Carol Mullins; a great-grandson, David Adam Stewart Miller; his parents, Curtis Feirl Boggs and Vesta (Hamilton) Boggs; a sister, Alberta Robinson and a brother, Hubert Boggs. GREGORY ALLEN BRANHAM POUND, VA- Gregory Allen Branham, 59, was born December 2, 1955, he went to his Heavenly Home Sunday January 25, 2015 from the residence of his aunt, Trish Tunnell, in Pound, VA. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Ulala Mullins Branham, maternal grandparents, Monroe and Polly Mullins; paternal grandparents, Buck and Roxie Branham; and a special cousin, Sherrie Ann Tunnell Greg was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhart fan, he also enjoyed drag racing, football games and fishing. Greg was lovingly raised by his grandparents, Roxie and Buck Branham, and a very special aunt, Trish Tunnell, known as “Sis”. He also had a special little care giver, Chaelee Brooke Robinson, known as “Abigail”; he is also survived by a brother, Phillip Michael Branham of Washington D.C. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends. DANIEL WAYNE STURGILL POUND, VA – Daniel Wayne Sturgill, 49, entered into eternity Wednesday January 21, 2015 from his residence. Daniel was a Christian of the Baptist faith. He was a hard working man who provided a living for his family. Daniel had worked his entire life in the logging business with his father and his brothers. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his sons, especially hunting with Jacob and watching Jeopardy with Logan. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother Betty Ruth Sturgill; a nephew, Michael Dwayne Shortt; great nieces Nina Danyell Sturgill, Savanah Barnette and Brianna Dollarhyde; and great nephew, Lockland Sturgill. ANNA LEE MEADE POUND, VA- Anna Lee Meade, 78, our precious wife, mother, grandmother and friend gracefully entered those Pearly Gates to her Heavenly Home awaiting her January 16, 2015 from Indian Path Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving family. Anna Lee’s true passion was loving her Lord and Savior and loving her wonderful husband of nearly sixty years. She loved all her family from the inner depths of her heart and always had a prayer on her heart for all of her family. Anna Lee is preceded in death by an infant daughter Mary Lee Meade on January 12, 1956. ALBERT EDGAR WHITTAKER ALEXANDRIA, VA – Albert Edgar Whittaker, 90, passed peacefully Thursday January 8, 2015 at his home in Alexandria, VA with his family by his side. Albert was born February 13, 1924 in Pound, VA to the late Edgar A. Whittaker and Alta (Meade) Whittaker. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Aldine Suggs Whittaker. Albert is survived by his children Annetha Harris (Terry) of Haymarket, VA, Brenda McMahon of Manassas, VA, Karen Whittaker of Alexandria, VA, Sonia Whittaker of Alexandria, VA, Albert E. Whittaker II (Frida) of Alexandria, VA and Rickey Whitttaker (Edwina) of Henderson, NV; his grand-children, Annette McMahon, Duane Harris (Julia), Kevin McMahon (Leeza), Dustin Harris (Ann), Adam Whittaker, Aaron Whittaker (Ashley) and Preston Whittaker; his great-grandchildren, David Harris, Kaitlyn Harris, Daniel McMahon, Madisen McMahon and Ada Harris; his extended family; and a host of friends and loved ones to mourn his passing and cherish his memory. BRADLY ALAN HURT POUND, VA- Bradly Alan Hurt was born on November 22, 1975 in Wise, VA. Brad passed away at his home in Pound, VA on Sunday January 11, 2015 at the age of 39. Brad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arvil and Blanche (Meade) Hurt and maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Wilda Smith. Brad is survived by his parents, James and Reda Hurt of Pound, VA and two siblings: Matt Hurt and wife Rebecca and daughter Carly of Wise ,VA and Nick Hurt and wife Autumn of Nashville, TN. Brad shared the last six years with the love of his life, Sara Roop of Big Stone Gap, VA. Both Brad and Sara shared a passion for history and teaching the young children of our future. Brad positively impacted many lives while teaching in the Wise County School System for 15 years. Brad was well known for his remarkable craftsmanship and was a master in many different fields. He was a long time member of the National Rifle Association and an advocate for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for many years. DANNIE KEDRIC COX Pound, VA-Dannie Kedric Cox, 71, moved to the place Jesus had prepared him from Norton Community Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family. Dannie was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist Faith. He was a former mechanic and worked in strip job mining. He was an avid sportsman who loved deer hunting, fishing, camping, talking on the CB to his friends, trapping, reading, and was a craftsman who enjoyed wood working and making knives. He was proud of his American Indian lineage. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He left a precious legacy of his love of the outdoor to his children to be passed on, but most important was his love for his family. Those who have gone on before him are his parents, Ottis and Susie Riner Cox, and infant brother, nephew, Benny Cox, and a great niece, Benny Helen Cox. ESSIE ELLISON POUND, VA- Essie Ellison, 96, entered into eternity Monday January 5, 2015 from the Mountain View Regional Medical Center-Norton, VA. Essie was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading western novels by Louis Lamour, gardening , canning and preserving. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing and quilting as well as NASCAR racing, she attended as many races as possible with her husband Earl. She was also a fan of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Essie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Essie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ellison; her daughter, Earlene Bolling; her parents, John and Ethel (Meade) Branham; a sister, Hazel Robinson; and a brother, Nyal Branham. NINA FAYE MULLINS FREDERICKSBURG, VA- Nina Faye Mullins, 70, went to be with the Lord on Friday December 26, 2014 from her residence. She was surrounded by her loving family. Nina was of the Church of Christ faith, she attended several churches. Nina was a homemaker and enjoyed working puzzles books, a cup of coffee, home county cooking, arts and crafts. She loved reading her Bible when she could. Nina was also a huge Nascar fan, with #3 Dale Earnharth Sr. being her favorite. The time she spent traveling to be with her family and friends meant the world to her, when they all got together she loved cooking a large dinner for them, especially Christmas dinner. REVA KAY DOTSON POUND, VA - Reva Kay Dotson, 70, received her everlasting present Christmas morning as she passed from this life to her eternal life with Jesus Thursday December 25, 2014 from the Bristol Regional Medical Center. Many of her loving family members were by her side. Reva was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith and a member Ferbie Chapel Church-Pound, VA. Reva had a gentle loving face with a beautiful smile and warm caring heart. She was a loving wife, sister, and friend. She enjoyed cooking and getting flowers from her husband, Buddy. In her later years, Reva was happy in her rocking chair, watching television and as Buddy would say ”Cowboys and Indians” was her favorite. Reva loved watching Gun Smoke and Matlock. She enjoyed going out shopping and eating .But she really enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. Growing up with 12 siblings they all have fond memories of special times together. Reva was preceded in death by her parents, Bascom and Gaynell (Robinson) McCoy; her first husband, Paul L. Adams that passed away from cancer; and her nephews, Dwayne Dotson and Jeffery Baker. JERRY DEAN MULLINS BIG STONE GAP, VA- Jerry Dean Mullins, 67, passed away Tuesday December 23, 2014 from his residence. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the American Legion. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietrnam War. He worked in the coal industry for over 26 years with several mining companies including Paramont and Betty B Coal. He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing music was a love of his, he was able to play the guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin and fiddle. Being with his kids and grandkids gave him great joy and laughter. Watching television was a past time of his, The Walton’s and cartoons being his favorites. PAULINE BEVERLY EATON POUND, VA - Mrs. Pauline Beverly Eaton, 81, went to be with her Lord and was welcomed home on Sunday December 21, 2014 from the Mountain View Regional Medical Center, Norton , VA. Her loving family was by her side. Born on May 18, 1933 in Wise, VA to the late Walter and Elizabeth (Smith) Beverly. Pauline lived her entire life in Wise County. She was a Christian of the Freewill Baptist faith. Pauline enjoyed quilting, going out to eat especially KFC, shopping, caring for her flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. Pauline was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, always putting others before herself. She will always be remembered for compassion and love she had for her family and her many friends. She was known for beautiful handmade quilts and her acts of kindness. JOSHUA MARCUS ROBINSON WISE, VA- Joshua Marcus “Pudgy” Robinson, 24, passed away Friday December 12, 2014 as results of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Josh was of the Christian faith.
